9 Hole course rules

OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 27)

A ball is out of bounds if it lies:

(a) Beyond any fence or hedge bounding the course.

(b) On or beyond the road to the left of the 1st hole

(c) Beyond the fence protecting the bungalow at the back of the 1st green

 

WATER HAZARDS (Rule 26)

(a) Water hazards are indicated by yellow posts.

(b) Lateral water hazards are indicated by red posts.

 

ROADS AND PATHS

All paths and tracks, including rubber matting, are integral parts of the course. The ball must be played as it lies or declared unplayable (Rule 28).

 

STONES IN BUNKERS

Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1).

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREEN

The specimen local rule in the Rules of Golf booklet is in effect – see pages 134/135.

 

PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES

(a) If a young tree identified by a stake or guard interferes with a player’s stance or the area of the intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b (Immovable Obstruction).

(b) Fenced plantations are G.U.R. from which play is prohibited and relief must be taken (Rule 25-1).

 

DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES

For all play at this course, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. The specimen local rule in the Rules of Golf booklet is in effect – see page 140.

 

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:            Match Play – Loss of hole

                                                                        Stroke Play – Two strokes
