Kevin Lovelock Head Professional
I have been the professional at Ipswich Golf Club since 2007 when I joined from Stoke By Nayland Golf Club. I have very much enjoyed working in the private members club at Ipswich. I have found the club atmosphere to be a friendly and welcoming one. This is the atmosphee I believe needs to be created to achieve the best results when learning.
I have been fortunate to coach some talented people, one of those was Jamie Moul who arrived for his first lesson at the age of eleven and we have worked together since. He has enjoyed as much success as any Suffolk golfer so far having finished off his glowing amateur career by being selected to play in the Walker Cup Team and as a professional by playing on the European Tour. Although coaching someone as talented as Jamie is rewarding, as a teacher I am as equally rewarded when helping any golfer find some way of gaining more enjoyment from their game. My belief is that you are never too young or too old to learn especially when using the scoring clubs, (wedges and putter) Improving or learning a new technique on the short game will definitely lower your scores.
As the professional at the club part of my responsibility is to offer a retail shop and club repair service, my goal in this area of the club is to offer a quality stock at realistic prices with a service that the members and visitors to the club would expect. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit to the club and if we can help with your golf in any way please do not hesitate to call in the shop.

After spending seven years at Ipswich Golf Club as assistant, in 2014, I advanced my career at Royston Golf Club, in Hertfordshire, becoming the Head Professional and I am now excited to return under a new role at Ipswich Golf Club.

I am excited to join the team here at Ipswich from Bungay & Waveney Valley GC. I started as a junior at Bungay when I was 12 and progressed through the ranks to take up a position as assistant professional when I had finished my A-levels. During my studies to become a PGA professional I picked up awards for coming top of the year for the golf coaching module in year 1 and top of the east region for all modules in the second year, which I'm extremely proud of.
During my studies I developed a strong appreciation for teaching, and have focused my efforts over the last 2 years to learn as much about teaching as I can; including travelling to watch the likes of Denis Pugh and Steve Cardy give lessons. I have been lucky that a broad spectrum of golfers have given me the opportunity to work with them on their golf game; from juniors and beginners to single figure handicaps. I feel comfortable working with all ages & abilities.
I would describe my teaching style as informative, effective and fun. I offer individual lessons and package deals to members and non-members, along with group lessons. Please feel free to visit the pro shop to discuss anything at all about your golf game. Follow me on twitter ianscottgolf
