Welcome Visitor
One of the many tributes to the quality of Ipswich Golf Club

"It is a great club. Unlike a lot of other clubs it is extremely friendly, and everyone is welcome. It has an excellent balance of the old and the new, maintaining golfing traditions, whereas at the same time using new techniques... You can find all aspects of golf on the one course, and the surroundings and wildlife are fantastic.

The nine-hole course also offers an excellent game and great value for money. Both courses are extremely well-kept."

- an extract from the comments of Ben Powell, writing in Golf Today online magazine, just one of the many testimonials in praise of the qualities of Ipswich Golf Club over the years.

Ipswich Golf Club was first established in 1895 and the present day course at Purdis Heath - designed by the legendary James Braid - was officially opened in 1928. The nine-hole course was added 40 years later, in 1968.

It is the only golf club to have twice won a national award for its work on preserving the area's natural heathland habitat and wildlife - making it a golfing gem in an environmental haven.

Ipswich Golf Club welcomes individual visitors and societies and can offer excellent catering facilities and a fully-stocked PGA professional's shop as well as 27 top-quality holes of golf.
